Monica Vardabasso, BA, Dip Law, FPRIA – President

Monica has been on the TAD Board since 2004, is a member of the Fundraising Sub-Committee and recently became the President of TAD. She is Senior Manager Communications Support, with the Transport Projects division of Transport for NSW, a Fellow of the NSW Public Relations Institute, a member of the International Association of Business Communicators and is completing a Master of Business (Management) at UTS.



Gail Tang-Demetriou, B. Soc. Studies, MSW, MAASW – Deputy President

After gaining her Bachelor of Social Studies and Master of Social Work degrees, Gail has worked as a Social Worker in a number of Disability Services including the Western Sydney Developmental Disability Service. Gail was also a Policy Officer in Ageing and Disability Services Branch and Funded Services and has taught at various TAFE colleges in welfare and disability courses.



Rod Weir - Director

Rod is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years experience in financial management. Rod has worked for Price Waterhouse as an auditor in a number of countries and also as CFO of PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting business in Australia. He has also held a number of senior financial management roles with not for profit organisations in education, health and disability services in recent years. Rod joined the board in September 2014.


Andrew Every, B.Comm, CA - Director

Andrew is a Chartered Accountant and received his Bachelor of Commerce (University of New South Wales) in 2005. He worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers for nearly 10 years advising management and boards in assurance, mergers and acquisitions and strategy before joining Telstra where he is currently employed as a General Manager Commercial and Content.


Marianne Hammerton BA (Hons), MA – Director

Marianne has extensive Australian Public Sector executive and diverse not for profit board director experience (the Royal Rehabilitation Centre, the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge Foundation and Trainworks Ltd). Her disability services experience in NSW involved Chief Executive roles with the Home Care Service and Ageing & Disability Department. A Telstra Businesswoman of the Year Award recipient, Marianne joined the Board in 2012.


Matthew Kayrooz, BSc – Director

Matthew has worked in the insurance industry for several companies including NRMA, AAMI and currently, Suncorp. He has senior management experience across product and claims management, customer service and dispute resolution. Matthew was a Board member of the Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals (SOCAP) Australia (1991-98). He joined the TAD Board in 2010.



William Phippen, OAM, FIEAust, B.Sc, B.E (civil) (hons) – Director

A member and technical volunteer at TAD since 1975 and an Honorary Member since 2010, Bill joined the Board in 1976, becoming Chairman in 1997. His achievements include NSW Senior Volunteer of the Year (2010), being named one of Sydney’s 100 most influential people by the Sydney Morning Herald (2010), the Medal of the Order of Australia (2012), and recognition as one of the 100 most influential engineers in Australia by Engineers Australia (2013) and appointed a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia (2014).


Lali Wiratunga - Director

Lali Wiratunga is the National Manager for Davidson Institute and Social Sector Segment at Westpac. He has over 17 years international experience, in financial and professional services – having had a number of corporate roles across the Westpac Group, worked as a management consultant with Accenture and as a corporate lawyer in the United Kingdom. Lali is passionate about delivering a great service experience for customers, the benefits of partnership development and building confidence today for a better financial future.
Lali is an advocate for the role of enterprise and entrepreneurs to help our communities to prosper and grow. He has been involved with the Social Sector, as a volunteer, since beginning his career, with roles including:
• Board Member of TAD
• Founding Partner of the SIMO Project, creating secure innovative technology platforms delivering social inclusion for people living with disabilities
• Advisor to community organisation I-Manifest, which believes in the power of creativity, collaboration and connectedness to empower youth
• Pro bono advisor to Clickability, an organisation running a website that allows consumers of disability support services to make informed choices about their care
• Pro bono advisor to a London-based legal aid centre, at the start of his career In 2016, Lali was recognised for his positive impact in the Social Sector as a Pro Bono Australia Impact 25 winner




Camilla Love - GAICD, F.FIN, MBA (Exec), B.A, B.Com - Director

Camilla has been with Perennial Value Management for over 14years. In which time she has been an integral member of the team marketing, promoting and building the Perennial business both domestically and overseas. Camilla holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master in Applied Finance. She is Deputy Chair of UNSW Australia’s Business School Alumni Advisory Board and sits on the Women In Super NSW Committee and also on its National Professional Development Committee.
