Max is a loving 5-year-old who likes water, lights, bright colours and music. He was born with Pitt-Hopkins Syndrome. Unable to use the slides in the park, TAD volunteer Jim, constructed a play set which met all of Max's needs.

On a chilly Sunday morning a group of dedicated TAD supporters left their warm beds to take on the iconic City2Surf - 14kms including Heartbreak Hill. They came, they walked/ran and conquered and raised over $5,900.

TAD Disability Services (TAD) is the only charity in NSW which designs and builds custom equipment for people with disabilities. TAD will now be utilising 3D printing technology to produce highly personalised, complex custom equipment to enable people with disabilities to lead more independent lives.

The combined efforts of three volunteer organisations saw a local child with Spinal Muscular Atrophy receive a much welcomed piece of equipment. Finn, a student at St Columba School in Port Macquarie, was provided with an Access Platform and Rail.

The NRMA Helping People Awards recognise the selfless contribution of local volunteers who are motivated by a simple desire to give back to their community. Nearly 600 volunteers were nominated by their peers and TAD Disability Services volunteer Bill Jenkins was awarded the Senior Volunteer Award.

Early Sunday morning Mitchel Olsen took on the 15km Spring Cycle ride and not only did he hit nearly 40 kms per hour, but he also became the top fundraiser for the event; raising enough money to provide ten specially modified bikes for children with disabilities.
